Motihari, 8 people got burnt due to cylinder explosion in Bhathanhiya village of Darpa police station area. The condition of six people was critical and they have been referred from Motihari Sadar Hospital to Muzaffarpur SKMCH for better treatment. This incident happened on Friday (03 November) evening. Two other people are partially injured and have not been sent to Muzaffarpur. He is getting treatment here and there only. There is talk of gas leakage regarding the incident.
The bike also got burnt along with household items in the incident.
It is being told that this incident happened while cooking at Jagu Ram’s house late on Friday evening. Was leaking gas. As soon as gas was burnt for cooking, this incident of fire occurred. Along with the house, the people in the neighborhood also got caught in the fire. The fire spread within no time. Many items in the house were burnt. The bike kept in the house also got burnt.
On receiving the news of house fire due to domestic gas, Darpa police station chief reached the spot with his team. The fire brigade was called and the fire was brought under control with the help of the villagers. Those burnt in the incident include Jagu Ram (50 years), wife Urmila Devi (45 years), son Suraj Kumar (12 years), besides Jagu Ram’s brother’s wife and nephew. Apart from these, Ankit (16 years), Pradeep Kumar (45 years) and Mukund Kumar (13 years) living in the neighborhood have been injured. Jagu Ram’s brother’s wife and nephew are partially burnt. Six people have been badly injured in the accident.
In this case, Darpa police station incharge told that Urmila Devi, wife of Jagu Ram of Bhathanhiya village, had gone to burn gas for cooking. As soon as the gas stove was lit with a lighter, the gas pipe suddenly caught fire. There was leakage in the pipe. A total of five people of the same family are burnt.
