Parents left their children in the car outside Heera Sweets on Vikas Marg in Shakarpur area of East Delhi and went to buy sweets. The father left his 11-year-old daughter and three-year-old son there with the AC on in the car. Mobiles and other valuables were also left in the car.
Meanwhile, the miscreants kidnapped both the children along with the car. After this, the accused demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh in exchange for releasing the children. The family got very scared. The police was informed about the matter at around 11.40 pm. Apart from Shakarpur police station, half a dozen teams of Special Staff, AATS and others were immediately formed. The mother of the children was constantly in touch with the miscreants. Negotiations continued regarding giving money.
Meanwhile, the police kept tracing the location of the criminals. The criminals reached the Outer-North district. The help of Outer-North district police was also taken. Later, the accused stood outside the Samaypur-Badli railway station. The RPF was immediately informed. Seeing themselves surrounded, the criminals fled from the spot leaving the car and the children behind. The police recovered the children safely.
The jewellery and mobile kept in the car also remained intact. Police is busy searching for the accused. Police teams are conducting raids in Delhi, UP and Haryana. The family has thanked the senior police officers for the prompt action.
