State Minister Fathimath Shamnaz: Maldives’ female minister Fatima Shamnaz Ali Salim has been arrested. She is accused of practicing black magic to get close to President Mohammed Muizzu. The arrested Shamnaz Ali is the Minister of State in the Environment Ministry. Talking to the local media, an official said that Shamnaz Ali has been arrested and sent to custody for 7 days. Maldives’ newspaper Addhadhu has reported that the Hulhumale Magistrate Court has extended the detention period of Minister Shamnaz Ali Salim.
Adhadhu said in a report that Fatima Shamnaz is the ex-wife of Adam Rameez, the Minister of the President’s Office. In this report, citing sources, it has been said that before the arrest, the police raided Fatima Shamnaz’s house. The police have seized some items from Shamnam’s house. Shamnaz Ali was earlier working in the Presidential Palace Muliaj, but recently she was made the Minister of State for Environment. It is also being claimed in the local media of Maldives that the Muizzu government has suspended Shamnaz’s ex-husband.

It is being said that Adam Rameez, who worked very closely with Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu, has not been seen for the last several months. The arrested minister Shamnaz has three children, one of whom is less than a year old. Fatima Shamnaz and Adam Rameez were recently divorced.
