Masoud Pezeshkian: On Sunday (July 28), Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei supported reformist Masoud Pezeshkian as the new president. In this regard, the director of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s office read a message. This message includes support for reformist Masoud Pezeshkian.

The message read, ‘I appoint the intelligent, honest, popular and scholar Masoud Pezeshkian as the President of the Republic of Iran.’ This message also included support for voting for Masoud Pezeshkian. Let us tell you that Masoud Pezeshkian has got about 54 percent votes.

Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian received more than 16 million votes out of 30 million votes in Iran. Masoud Pezeshkian will be sworn in as the new President of Iran on Tuesday (30 July) in front of the Parliament. Let us tell you that 69-year-old Pezeshkian has been given official responsibilities by acting President Mohammad Mokhbar.

72-year-old reformist Mohammad Reza Aref has been appointed as Iran’s vice president. Masoud Pezeshkian announced the election of Mohammad Reza Aref as vice president on state TV. Who is Masoud Pezeshkian?

Masoud Pezeshkian is a heart surgeon by profession. He was the Health Minister when Mohammad Khatami was the President of Iran. After the death of President Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash in May, Masoud Pezeshkian defeated conservative Saeed Jalili on July 5, 2024. Masoud Pezeshkian thanked the leaders and people of Iran after receiving official support from Khamenei. While thanking, he vowed to bear the burden of the presidency.
