Maruti Suzuki Fronx Crossover Getting Strong Response, More than 1.5 Lakh Units Sales

The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki’s compact crossover Fronx has received a good response from customers. It was launched in April last year. Its sales have exceeded 1.5 lakh units. It is based on the company’s Baleno which is sold in large numbers.

With this, the wholesales of Fronx reached 1,49,021 units. Its average sales per day is around 475 units. In view of this, its sales are expected to cross 1.5 lakh units last month. Fronx crossed the sales of one lakh units within 10 months of its launch.

Maruti Suzuki is also exporting it to the Middle East, Latin America and South-East Asia. It is available in a 1.2 liter petrol engine and a 1.0 liter turbo petrol Boosterjet engine. Its 1.2 liter petrol engine generates a maximum power of 88 bhp and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Apart from the manual gearbox, the Fronx is also available in a 5-speed AMT. company It claims to deliver a mileage of 21.8 kmpl with the manual gearbox and 22.89 kmpl with the AMT variant.

Its 1.2 liter engine variant is also available with CNG. However, it is only with manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki claims that the mileage of the CNG variant is 28.51 km/kg. Fronx is sold through the company’s Nexa retail network. Last month, Maruti Suzuki’s sales have declined by two percent. The main reasons behind this are high base effect, excessive heat and Lok Sabha elections. However, the company hopes that the upcoming monsoon season will be good and its sales pace will increase. The company has orders of more than 2.25 lakh units pending. Out of these pending orders, more than 40,000 are for the recently launched new Swift. Apart from this, about 75,000 orders are for CNG variants. CNG cars contribute more than 32 percent to the company’s sales. It is getting a lot of demand for the CNG variants of Brezza and Ertiga.
