A man killed during an attempted assassination of Donald Trump’s at a rally in Pennsylvania dived on his family in an attempt to shield them from the bullets, according to the state’s governor.
Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro, speaking at a press conference on Sunday, described 50-year-old Corey Comperatore as “a hero”.
He said two additional victims of the shooting are still in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the victim’s sister posted on Facebook saying: “The PA Trump Rally claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore.
“The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most.”
She added Mr Comperatore “was a hero that shielded his daughters”.
