Maharashtra Weather Updates: People in Maharashtra are going to get relief from the heat soon. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding rain. The Meteorological Department said that heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Maharashtra, coastal and northern Karnataka during the next 5 days. Rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue at some places in North-West India during the next 2 days.

Monsoon reached Maharashtra
The southwest monsoon has reached Maharashtra. This has brought some relief to the people of the state. The areas facing severe heat and severe water crisis have got special relief with the arrival of monsoon. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist Sunil Kamble said that the monsoon has reached Sindhudurg district of South Konkan and Sangli and Kolhapur in Western Maharashtra.

He said that monsoon can reach Mumbai between 9th and 10th June. People are facing severe water crisis in many parts of Maharashtra. Along with this, the situation has become worse due to heat. According to official figures, water is being provided to 11,565 villages and settlements in 34 districts of the state through government and private tankers till Thursday.
