Maharashtra MLC Election 2024 on 11 Seats 12 Candidates Nomination Filed: Jayant Patil Milind Narvekar

Maharashtra MLC Election 2024: Lok Sabha Elections Elections for 11 Legislative Council seats are being held on July 12 amid the changing political situation in the state after the results of the 2018 elections. A total of 12 candidates had filed nominations for these 11 seats. Thursday was the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers, and there was talk in political circles that independent candidate Jayant Patil and Milind Narvekar of the Thackeray group may withdraw their names.

However, despite the deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers ending, no candidate withdrew his name. Now a tough competition will be seen in the MLC elections to be held on July 12.

Interesting contest on 11 seats
Voting for the Legislative Council will be held on July 12. Since this voting will be done in secret, there is a possibility of large-scale financial horse-trading. Due to secret voting, there is also a high possibility of division of votes. Therefore, it will be important to see which party’s vote will be divided.

Who all are in the MLC election fray?
The BJP has fielded five candidates for the Legislative Council elections: Pankaja Munde, Sadabhau Khot, Parinay Phuke, Yogesh Tilekar, and Amit Gorkhe. Rajesh Vitekar and Shivajirao Garje are in the fray from the Ajit Pawar-led NCP. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has nominated Bhavana Gawali and Kripal Tumane from Shiv Sena.

On the other hand, Jayant Patil is contesting the election with the support of NCP (Sharad Pawar’s party) and Congress party. Uddhav Thackeray’s last minute fielding of Milind Narvekar has created a deadlock in the Legislative Council election. It will be interesting to see how effective Milind Narvekar’s all-party alliance proves to be in this election. If this happens, it will be important to see which party’s vote Milind Narvekar will break in the ruling Mahayuti. Let us tell you here, the total number of members of the Legislative Assembly is 274.
