Athawale’s statement had come a few days ago in which he had said that we should be given a chance to contest on at least 10-12 seats. He had said that RPI will demand three to four seats in Vidarbha.
Congress in Dharavi and Malad, BJP captured Shivajinagar seat
There are a total of 36 assembly seats in Mumbai. BJP has been dominant in Shivajinagar assembly seat since last two elections. In such a situation, it will be important to see whether BJP gives this seat to RPI or not. At the same time, Congress has been winning Malad West seat for the last three elections. Aslam Shaikh has been the MLA from here for 15 years. Congress has also dominated Dharavi. This seat is with Congress since 2004.
Talks going on on 80 seats in Mahayuti
The final picture of seat distribution in the ruling Grand Alliance has not yet been revealed. The alliance constituents have staked claim on 80 seats. Recently, Mumbai BJP President Ashish Shelar had informed that only 80 seats are left to be discussed. Because the ruling coalition already has 208 assembly seats on which there is no need for discussion. Even after Ashish Shelar’s statement, suspense remains on seat sharing in Mahayuti.
