Noida Police will take action under Gangster Act against 18 accused who cheated crores of rupees through Mahadev betting app which is famous across the country. The action has been taken on the instructions of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh. The central government has banned Mahadev betting app on the request of ED. Noida Police had also written a letter to shut down the app. Due to this betting app, many film stars are also on the radar of different agencies. In this matter, a case was registered in Police Station 39 of Noida. The arrested accused are residents of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh. The police has also filed a charge sheet in this case.
There is a lot of politics going on in this matter. BJP is continuously cornering Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel. At the same time, Mumbai Police has registered a case against 32 people including the promoter of Mahadev Betting App in this matter. According to a Mumbai Police official, on the instructions of the 30th Kurla Court, a case has been registered under sections 420 (fraud), 120-B (conspiracy), IT Act (cyber terrorism) and Gambling Act of the Indian Penal Code. According to the FIR, the accused committed fraud of about Rs 15,000 crore.
The Enforcement Directorate had claimed that forensic analysis and the statement of a cash courier had revealed shocking revelations. According to the agency, the promoters of Mahadev Betting App have so far given Rs 508 crore to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. The agency said the allegations are being investigated.
Later BJP released a video of one Shubham Soni in which he is saying that he was the owner of the app and has evidence of giving Rs 508 crore till now to Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel. On November 5, the Center had said in an official statement that on the request of ED, orders have been given to block 22 illegal betting platforms including Mahadev Betting App and ReddyannaPrestoPro. This step was taken after ED raids against Mahadev App and illegal betting app syndicate in Chhattisgarh.
