New Delhi. Indian women’s team star batsman Smriti Mandhana is celebrating her 28th birthday today i.e. Thursday, July 18. She was born on this day, July 18, 1996 in Mumbai. Her father’s name is Srinivas Mandhana and mother’s name is Smita Mandhana. Apart from this, she also has a brother in her family. Smriti has told many times that she got interested in playing cricket after seeing her brother.

Mandhana got the opportunity to debut for the Indian team in the T20 series against the Bangladesh women’s team on 5 April 2013. In the first match, she played a brilliant innings of 39 runs in 36 balls. During this, four excellent fours came off her bat. Smriti Mandhana was 11 years old at that time when she was selected for the Under 19 team. In October 2013, she played an explosive innings of 224 runs not out in 150 balls against Gujarat.

Smriti Mandhana scored her first ODI century in 2016, when she scored 102 runs off 109 balls against Australia in Hobart. Almost five years later, Mandhana scored 127 runs off 216 balls in the historic Pink Ball Test in Australia. Her innings included 22 fours and a six. Mandhana has so far scored more than seven thousand runs in international cricket for India. She has scored more than 3000 runs in ODIs and T20s.
