Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The rebellious tone of Samajwadi Party MLA Maharaji Devi is being seen in the Amethi Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Gayatri Devi is the wife of Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, who was a cabinet minister in the SP government and is the SP MLA from Amethi Assembly seat, but these days her entire family is campaigning in support of BJP MP Smriti Irani instead of the India Alliance.
SP MLA Maharaji Devi Prajapati’s son Anurag Prajapati and daughter Ankita Prajapati have openly come in support of BJP candidate Smriti Irani. He is attending their meetings and appealing to people to vote in favor of BJP instead of Congress. Many of his videos are also going viral on social media in which he is trying to make Smriti Irani win.
Ask for votes for Smriti Irani
Maharaji Devi’s daughter Ankita Prajapati was seen with BJP MP Smriti Irani at a meeting in Amethi on Friday. His son Anurag Prajapati was also present in this meeting. Addressing the people, Ankita said, “I request all of you to help them and make them victorious. I want to know from all of you that you all raise your hands and tell whether you are blessing Didi or not. ”
The video of SP MLA’s son and daughter campaigning for BJP is becoming increasingly viral on social media. This is not the first time that the rebellious attitude of SP MLA Maharaji Devi is being seen. Earlier, even in the recently held elections for Rajya Sabha seats in UP, Maharaj Devi had not voted in support of SP. Maharaji Devi remained absent during this period, which is being seen as support for BJP.
Congress’s KL Sharma is contesting from the Indian Alliance in Amethi. His contest is with BJP MP Smriti Irani. Smriti Irani had defeated Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi from this seat in the 2019 elections, after which Rahul Gandhi is now contesting from Rae Bareli. While BJP is calling it fear of Rahul Gandhi, Congress is claiming this step to be a part of its strategy.
