Rajasthan Lok Sabha Election 2024: The controversy and infighting over Kota Bundi Lok Sabha seat is not showing any signs of stopping. Amidst the allegations and counter allegations, Congress candidate from Kota Prahlad Gunjal staged a protest at 11.30 pm on Tuesday night.

An atmosphere of chaos was created due to the protest outside the SP office. Prahlad Gunjal was adamant on the demand to release the banded Congress workers in the name of law and order. He alleged that the administration is harassing Congress workers in the name of law and order. He accused him of working under pressure from police and administration.

Prahlad Gunjal expressed his displeasure over the working style of the police. In the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Dilip Saini, he ordered food and ate it at the protest site. Despite explanation, the angry Congress candidates were adamant on their demand. Negotiations continued between the police and the protesters. SP Dr. Amrita Duhan reached the spot at around 2 o’clock in the night. After getting assurance from the SP, Gunjal announced to end the protest at around 2.30 pm. Gunjal says that even the Election Commission is not taking action on the complaint letter.

Expressed displeasure over the arrest of Congress workers

DST teams were formed in all the police stations of Kota-Bundi Lok Sabha seat and houses were raided to arrest Congress workers. About 40 workers have been arrested in raids. He alleged that even a constitutional institution like the Election Commission is sitting silent.

Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan said that action against people with criminal tendencies is a regular process to conduct fair and peaceful elections. With the implementation of the code of conduct, the daily action report is also sent to the Election Commission. In this sequence, Kota Police took action against active criminals. In the last three days, 10 history-sheeters and about 25 criminal persons have been banned. Kota Police is committed to conducting peaceful and fair elections. In the second phase, voting will be held for Kota Bundi Lok Sabha seat on April 26.
