With a thrilling victory of 1 run in the last over against Toyam Hyderabad, the team moved towards the title. Batting first, Konark Surya, thanks to Kevin O’Brien’s fifty and captain Irfan Pathan’s quick 49 runs, scored 156 runs for 5 wickets. In reply, Hyderabad team could only score 155 runs for 6 wickets.
On the basis of Irfan Pathan’s all-round game, Konark Surya’s team made its place in the finals. After the defeat against Southern Superstars in Qualifier 1, the team made a tremendous comeback and secured the ticket to the final by defeating Hyderabad in a thrilling match that lasted till the last ball. Odisha, who came to bat after losing the toss, did not have a good start but coming at number three, Kevin O’Brien’s inning of 50 runs on 39 balls with 5 fours and 1 six changed the match. In the end, captain Irfan Pathan played an inning of 49 runs with the help of 5 fours and 1 six on 35 balls, taking the score to 156 runs.
