Lenovo K6 Power It is being projected as an entertainment device by the company. To ensure uninterrupted entertainment, the company has included a 4000 mAh battery in it. We spent some time with this handset at the launch event. How did we like this phone at first glance? Let us tell you.
Considering that the Lenovo K6 Power comes with a big battery, the first thing that catches your eye is its design. It is not bulky. The dimensions are 141.90×70.30×9.30mm and it weighs 145 grams. It is not slim by today’s standards, but we had no problem using it with one hand. Lenovo has not tried anything unique when it comes to design. But the K6 Power feels more premium than its price suggests. This is thanks to the metal body.

The 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display has a pixel density of 441 ppi. We found the display to be sharp, but we couldn’t test it in outdoor light. There are no physical buttons on the front panel of the handset. There are three capacitive buttons for Home, Back and Recent. The volume and power buttons are located on the left edge of the device. They were easy to reach when used with one hand.
The smartphone has a 13-megapixel camera on the rear with a fingerprint sensor. The rear camera has a Sony IMX258 sensor. The front camera sensor is 8 megapixels. It has an IMX219 sensor with a wide angle lens. In the short time we spent with the K6 Power, we would consider both the cameras to be its positive side.
There are many modes in the phone’s camera app for both professional and novice users. Some tips have also been given to the general user on how to take good pictures through special modes. Whereas, professional users can take better pictures by changing the settings as per their wish.
Lenovo has introduced a new security feature in the phone, with the help of which selected apps can be locked through fingerprint or passcode. The company claims that the fingerprint scanner is very fast and with its help it is possible to unlock the device from standby mode in just 0.3 seconds. We will be able to verify these claims only during the review.
The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s Vibe Pure UI skin on top. It is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. In the limited time we spent with the handset, we did not find any performance issues. Unfortunately, there were not many apps available on the handset for testing. So we will be able to write about it in detail only in the review.
At this price, Lenovo K6 Power will compete with Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime and Coolpad Note 5 which are available for Rs 8,999 and Rs 10,999 respectively. Both these phones have bigger batteries, but K6 Power is also better in many aspects. Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime comes with HD (720×1280 pixels) screen while Coolpad Note 5 has full-HD resolution display, but its price is higher.
