Raghu’s journey to becoming the throwdown specialist of Team India has been full of struggle. Born in Kumta in Uttara Kannada district, Raghu has always been passionate about cricket. After some time he started living in Bangalore.

No one could recognize Raghu’s talent in Bangalore. He first attracted the attention of Tilak Naidu, former Karnataka state cricketer and head of the Under-19 selection committee. Who introduced him to another legendary cricketer of Karnataka, Javagal Srinath. Srinath asked him to join the Karnataka Ranji team. Sachin Tendulkar saw his talent in the year 2011 and he advised the team management to include Raghu with the team as a training assistant. After this he was included in the team.
