Lawrence is currently lodged in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat. Now a cousin of Lawrence has revealed that the family spends Rs 40 lakh every year on Lawrence so that he does not face any kind of trouble in jail.

According to media reports, Lawrence’s cousin Ramesh Bishnoi said that his family never thought that Lawrence, a law graduate from Punjab University, would become a criminal. Ramesh said, ‘Our family has always been prosperous. Lawrence’s father was a constable in the Haryana Police and owned 110 acres of land in the village. Lawrence was always fond of wearing expensive clothes and shoes. Even now the family spends Rs 35-40 lakh on him every year in jail.
How did the name Lawrence come about?
Ramesh told that the real name of Lawrence, born in Firozpur, Punjab, is Balkaran Brar, but he had become Lawrence during his school days. It is said that Lawrence’s aunt advised him to keep the name Lawrence and said that this name sounds better.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has been linked to several high profile cases in recent years. Be it the case of threatening film actor Salman Khan and firing at his house or the recent murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai, the name of Lawrence Bishnoi gang has come up in all of them. Earlier, Lawrence Bishnoi gang was also accused of murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Not only this, the Canadian government has also alleged that Indian agents are targeting Khalistani radicals in collaboration with Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
