Kumble and Hayden selected World Cup XI, place for 5 Indian players, know who got the place

New Delhi. World Cup 2023 is now in the decisive phase. Apart from India, the teams of South Africa, Australia and New Zealand have made it to the last four. In the first semi-final of the tournament on November 15, India will face the New Zealand team while The next day i.e. on 16th November, South Africa and Australia will face each other. Talking about Team India, it has surprised everyone with its explosive performance. Rohit Sharma’s team has won all its 9 matches easily and has made it to the semi-finals by being on top. Before the semi-final matches, two of the world’s leading cricketers – India’s Anil Kumble and Australia’s Matthew Hayden – have selected the World Cup XI, in which they have included five Indian players.

Both these giants selected South Africa’s Quinton de Kock along with India’s Rohit Sharma as openers. Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, he said, ‘De Kock has been an extraordinary player in my opinion. The reasons for choosing Rohit Sharma are clear. Both of them do a good job of accelerating the score in the power play. Virat Kohli and Rachin Ravindra are in their team at number three and four respectively. Virat has scored 594 runs so far in this tournament while Rachin has scored 565 runs so far.

Kumble and Hayden’s choice at number five is Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who has scored two explosive centuries in the tournament. Maxwell, who scored a century in just 40 balls against Netherlands, also gave the team a charismatic victory by scoring a double century (201 not out) against Afghanistan. Heinrich Klaasen of South Africa, at number six, has been successful in getting a place in this World Cup XI.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is in this team at number seven, while South Africa’s Marco Jensen, India’s Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have also been successful in getting a place in the team. India’s Kuldeep Yadav has not been able to make a place in this team as a wrist spinner, Adam Zampa, who is currently the highest wicket taker in the tournament, has got a place in this World Cup XI.
