Kistaram to Sukma bus service started in Naxal-affected area Sukma Collector S Harish IAS ANN

Sukma News Today: The Maoists have been uprooted due to the action of the soldiers in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. Due to the pressure of the soldiers on the Maoists, development work is being done rapidly in these areas. Earlier, the Naxalites had terrorized this area for about 30 years.

Due to this, the villagers living in this area were neither able to avail the basic facilities nor the transport services. The villagers remained dependent on the hot markets held in the village for their daily needs.

Rural areas deprived of means of transport
In this scientific age, the residents here have to travel miles on foot to reach the city and fulfil their needs. Especially during emergency services, these villagers had to face many difficulties.

Hundreds of people lost their lives due to not getting timely treatment. Now after the Naxalites are on the backfoot, facilities are slowly reaching these areas.

Bus service started in Sukma
In this connection, a passenger bus service has been started from Kistaram to Sukma in Sukma district. Sukma Collector S Harish flagged off this bus from Sukma to Kistaram.

In fact, till now transport service from Sukma city to Naxal-affected village Kistaram could not be started. Villagers of this area could never get the benefit of transport service due to Naxals setting vehicles on fire several times during road construction.

However, now a passenger bus is running on this road and the villagers of around 12 villages in this area are getting the benefit of the passenger bus service.

The villagers faced problems in commuting
Sukma Collector S Harish said that the villagers living in the Naxal-affected areas of the district face a lot of problems in reaching the district headquarters. In view of this, the administration has started a new bus service from Kistaram to Sukma district headquarters under the Hakkum Mail bus service as public transport.

Collector S Harish said that this bus service will be operated by Sukma District Urban Public Service Society. The bus route includes areas which are Naxal-affected areas. The villagers do not have any facility to reach there.

He said that with the start of this bus service, the villagers will definitely get the facility of transportation. Also, in times of emergency, health services can be availed quickly through this bus.

Regarding this, the District Collector further informed that the villagers of Kistaram to Kasaram, Potakpalli, Dabbamarka, Salatong, Elmagunda, Minpa Chintalnar, Burkapal, Chintagufa, Polampalli, Dornapal, Keralapal village on the road from Sukma city to Kistaram will also be able to avail the benefit of this bus service.

He told that this bus will leave from Kistaram at 7 am. During this time it will reach Sukma city at around 11:30 am after passing through 12 villages.

Buses are running on these routes as well
Collector S Harish says that continuous efforts are being made to provide the benefit of transport services to the villagers of the interior villages of the district. Even before this, three buses are operating on different routes of the district.

In which buses are running from Jagargunda to Konta, Tongpal to Sukma and Bhusaras to Oler. After this, now bus service has been started from this new route Kistaram. He said that the villagers will definitely benefit from this.
