Kerala resident jailed in Saudi Arabia 34 crore collected through crowd funding to save life of Abdul Rahim

Saudi Arabia: People of the state have collected a donation of Rs 34 crore to save a person from Kerala who was sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia. Now the life of a person resident of Kerala can be saved by sending this amount to Saudi Arabia through the Indian Foreign Ministry. The people of Kerala have shown solidarity to save a life stranded abroad. The man sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia is Abdul Rahim, a resident of Kozhikode, Kerala.

Actually, Kerala resident Abdul Rahim has to pay about Rs 34 crore as ‘blood money’ before April 18 to avoid punishment. ‘Blood money’ means payment of money to the victim’s family to avoid punishment. Rahim has been in jail in Saudi Arabia for 18 years for the murder of a boy in 2006.

Abdul will be released after depositing ‘blood money’
Local people told that in the year 2006, Abdul Rahim had gone to Riyadh on house driver visa. During this time, Rahim was taking care of a disabled boy along with driving in Saudi, but the disabled boy died in an accident. In the same case, the Saudi court sentenced Rahim to death in 2018. Abdul Rahim has been in jail continuously since the death of the boy. After tireless efforts of the boy’s family, the court has said that if the boy’s family pays Rs 34 crore as ‘blood money’ then Abdul will be released from jail, for this crowd funding is being done in India. Was.

Amount raised through app
The Legal Action Committee had launched a SAVEABDULRAHIM app for the release of the Kerala man, through which an amount of more than Rs 30 crore was collected. Many influential people and businessmen launched a campaign in India to save Abdul’s life. After collecting enough donations, the Legal Action Committee has now stopped accepting donations. Abdul Rahim thanked the Legal Action Committee for this step and named it ‘Real Kerala Story’. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also reacted to this news, he said that this incident shows that the fort of brotherhood still exists in Kerala, which cannot be broken by any communalism.
