Kathua police team has been attacked by villagers during anti-encroachment drive

Jammu-Kashmir News: People were protesting against the anti-encroachment drive in a village in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. On Saturday, people protesting against the anti-encroachment drive attacked policemen. At least five policemen, including the DSP, were injured in this attack. Officials said that the drive was launched to demolish an illegally constructed place of worship in the Nagari area of ​​​​Hiranagar, which was opposed by a group of local people.

The officer said that the protesters turned violent and attacked the police, in which five policemen including a deputy superintendent were injured. Officials said that additional security forces have been sent to the area to restore law and order. It is being told that a team of the revenue department had also reached along with the police to remove the encroachment on government land. As soon as this team reached the spot, the people present there started pelting stones on the police and revenue teams. Due to which the policemen were injured.

Illegal construction continued even after notice
Let us tell you that anti-encroachment campaign is being run in other villages of Kathua as well. Information has been given by the Kathua administration that anti-encroachment campaign was run in Purab Chak village today. Earlier, notice was given twice against illegal construction but the construction continued there. Our action against illegal construction in Purab Chak is a regular campaign.
