Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa will appear before the CID today. Yeddyurappa has left his house to go to the CID office. Actually, he has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor. The minor’s mother had filed a complaint against him under the POCSO Act. On this matter, Yeddyurappa had said that he would appear before the CID on June 17, i.e. Monday. On June 11, a Bangalore court had issued a non-bailable warrant against former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa in the POCSO case.

Before appearing before the CID, Yeddyurappa spoke to the media. He said, “I am going to the CID.” Targeting the state government, he said, “The people of the state are facing many problems. The public is troubled by inflation. The state government’s decision to increase the prices of petrol and diesel is wrong. This is a crime. The state government should withdraw this decision.”

Let us tell you that earlier Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara had said that further action will be taken only after the former CM returns from Delhi. On Thursday, a non-bailable warrant was issued against Yeddyurappa under the POCSO Act. Reacting to this matter, the BJP called it a conspiracy and accused the Congress of diverting attention from the corruption charges against B. Nagendra.

The victim’s mother said in her complaint that the incident took place during a meeting on February 2. Yediyurappa said that a few days ago a woman came to his house. She was crying and saying that there was some problem. The former CM further said, “I asked her what the matter was and I myself called the police. I informed the commissioner about the matter and asked him to help her. Later the woman started speaking against me. I have brought this matter to the notice of the police commissioner.” Yediyurappa denied these allegations.
