In the by-elections to be held in Karnataka, Congress rebel leader Syed Azimpir Khadri had filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the by-elections to be held on Shiggaon assembly seat on November 13. Regarding which Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said on Saturday that rebel Congress leader Syed Khadri will withdraw his nomination as an independent candidate from Shiggaon on October 30.

Let us tell you that on Friday, the last day of filing nomination, Khadri surprised everyone by filing his nomination for the assembly by-election to be held on November 13 in Shiggaon at the last moment. After which rumors intensified that Khadri would harm the prospects of Congress candidate Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan.

BJP played bet on Bharat Bommai from Shiggaon

Karnataka has fielded Yasir Ahmed Khan in the Shiggaon assembly by-election. So BJP has fielded Haveri MP and former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s son Bharat Bommai from Shiggaon. Let us tell you that by-elections for three assembly seats in Karnataka, Channapatna, Sandur and Shiggaon, will be held on November 13. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.

Congress will give suitable post to Khadri

Rebel leader Khadri leaving Congress and contesting elections from Shiggaon as an independent candidate could prove to be harmful for Congress in some way or the other. Keeping this in mind, Karnataka’s Deputy CN, in order to placate the angry leader, said that Khadri will withdraw his nomination on October 30 and the party will give him a suitable post. Along with this, Shivkumar told that the rebel Congress leader discussed his concerns with him.

Khadri is with us – Shivkumar

The Karnataka Deputy CM said that he has been promised a suitable post in the party. I cannot disclose the promises made in view of the Model Code of Conduct. He said he would withdraw his nomination and work for the party. Khadri is with us.

The senior Congress leader said that Khadri should have been given the ticket in the last elections itself and the party will never forget his sacrifice and he will be rewarded by giving him a suitable post. Along with this, Shivkumar praised Khadri and said that he is an honest person and is committed to the secular philosophy of Congress.
