Karnal Goods Train Accident News: A major accident took place on Tuesday in Tarawadi of Karnal district of Haryana. Here 8 containers fell from a moving goods train and its rear wheels also derailed. After the accident, trains coming from both sides were stopped. On receiving information about the incident, railway officials and police team reached the spot. Due to the falling of the container, the railway track as well as power lines were damaged.
Due to the accident, 14 passenger and express trains were cancelled. The routes of 38 trains were diverted. About 60 to 70 trains ply on this route daily. They were affected due to the accident. Initial investigation has revealed that the axle of the goods train broke and there was a sudden jolt and eight containers fell on the railway track. Some wheels of the goods train also got derailed.
‘The matter will be investigated’
Police Inspector Dinesh Kumar said that I was informed at around 4:40 am that a goods train has derailed at Tarawadi railway station. Its 8 containers have fallen. It will be investigated. There has been no loss of life in the accident. The railway track has been damaged for about 3 kilometers. It will be repaired soon. All the 8 containers are said to be empty. All the senior officials of the division including DRM have reached the spot. Investigation is being done by the railway.
Let us tell you that after about seven and a half hours, the Delhi-Ambala rail line has been repaired. A trial has also been done by sending a goods train from Karnal to Ambala. At the same time, repair work is still going on on the Ambala to Delhi rail line.
