The cost of installing the clock was Rs 3 lakh at that time
The ancient clock tower situated in the middle of the busiest market of Jodhpur city is the main attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. Maharaj Sardar Singh started the construction of the clock tower in 1910. This construction was completed in 1912. This 100 feet high clock tower is three storeyed. There is a 6 feet clock on the third floor. Which rests on two big iron beams. The cost of installing this clock was three lakh rupees at that time.

One lakh rupees were given to the clock company just so that no other clock like this is made. The clock was made in 1911 by Mumbai based company Lund & Blockley. Such a clock is installed only on the clock tower of London. This clock does not run like a normal car, hence the key is wound once in power.
