Jammu Terror Attack: Four people of Rajasthan lost their lives including 2 year old child

Jammu Terror Attack: Authorities on Monday identified nine people who lost their lives in a deadly terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Four of those who lost their lives in the attack were residents of Rajasthan, including a two-year-old child, while three people were from Uttar Pradesh.

Officials said that out of the 41 pilgrims injured in the attack, 10 people have been shot. They said that most of the injured are from Uttar Pradesh. According to officials, the injured are being treated in three hospitals in Jammu and Reasi districts.

The bus fell into a ditch after the firing
Terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district at around 6.10 pm on Sunday, killing 9 people and injuring many others. The bus was on its way from Shiv Khodi temple to Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra and was attacked near Teryath village in Poni area. The 53-seater bus fell into a deep gorge after the firing.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Reasi) Vishesh Pal Mahajan said that all the nine deceased, including the driver and conductor of the bus, have been identified. He said that the bus driver Vijay Kumar Dasanu was a resident of Rajbagh while the conductor Arun Kumar was a resident of Kandera village of Katra. Both were residents of Reasi district.

All the deceased were residents of Jaipur
The police officer said that the other people who lost their lives in this terrorist attack include Rajinder Prasad Pandey Sahni, Mamta Sahni, Pooja Sahni and her two-year-old son Titu Sahni. All four were residents of Jaipur, Rajasthan. He said that the three other people killed in the attack were Shivam Gupta, Ruby and 14-year-old Anurag Verma, residents of Uttar Pradesh.

Mahajan said the district administration is sending the bodies to their respective states. He said 41 people aged between three and 50 years were injured in the attack, of which 10 were shot and are stable after surgery. 18 injured are being treated at the Government Medical College in Jammu, 14 at Narayana Hospital and nine at the District Hospital in Reasi. Among the injured, 34 are from Uttar Pradesh, five from Delhi and two from Rajasthan.
