Jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi has expressed concern about her husband’s safety. Bushra alleged that Imran is kept in inhuman conditions in jail and is being given dirty food.
‘My life and that of my husband are in danger’
Bushra said on Saturday that her husband, who is lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, is facing a threat to his life. According to a report in The Express Tribune newspaper, in an informal conversation with journalists in the jail, Bushra also expressed a threat to her life.
According to Bushra, Imran’s life is in danger considering the past incidents where he was poisoned earlier and an attempt was made to kill him by shooting. Bushra further said that she had appealed for an investigation into this but no response has been given by the court yet.
Talking about the conditions in the jail, Bushra, 49, said that she was kept in dirty places and was being fed contaminated food.

Bushra has criticized the administration for treating political prisoners like convicted criminals. She has alleged that other political prisoners are given VIP treatment while Imran Khan has to struggle even without basic facilities.
Imran Khan is in custody for 10 days
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is in custody for 10 days in connection with the May 9 riots. Several cases were registered against him during the May 9 riots. The Punjab province police claims that 12 terrorism-related cases are pending against Imran Khan. One of these cases is also related to the attack on a military officer in Lahore.
