Israel-Iran War: Israel carried out a highly secretive attack on Iran’s Parchin military complex in late October. This has been claimed in a media report. Taleghan 2 plant was targeted in this attack. Taleghan 2 was considered a highly secret nuclear weapons lab. This attack has dealt a deep blow to Iran’s nuclear weapons research.

The Taleghan 2 plant was previously thought to be inactive but was recently seen active again. According to the report of Axios, work was going on in this building to prepare plastic explosives, which are very important for placing them around the uranium of a nuclear device. All these equipment were destroyed in this attack. However, Iran has been denying any such incident. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, “Iran has no intention of making nuclear weapons.” But Israeli and American officials see it differently.

Concerns of international agencies increased

According to reports, the Taleghan 2 facility was part of Iran’s Amad nuclear program, which was shut down in 2003. But recent developments show that Iran had started work on it again. Satellite images have confirmed the destruction of this building. Before this attack, the White House had warned Iran about intelligence research activities. Despite these warnings, Iran did not respond, due to which the suspicions of American officials deepened further.

The impact of this attack may become even more serious in the future, because increasing tensions between Iran and Israel can create instability in West Asia. Apart from this, America’s National Intelligence Agency has also reviewed Iran’s nuclear program and raised serious questions on it.

IAEA response and international concern
Iran’s lack of cooperation will be discussed in the meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and it is possible that a resolution may be passed on this issue. The intelligence activities taking place in Taleghan 2 raise questions about its commitment to the nuclear treaty. This may increase international pressure on Iran even further.
