Israel Security Responsibility: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that after the end of the war with Hamas, Israel will take responsibility for the security of Gaza indefinitely. After Netanyahu’s comments, the US White House has said that it does not believe that Israeli forces should re-capture Gaza.
‘Re-occupation of Gaza is not right’
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in an interview with CNN, “The President (Joe Biden) still believes that it is not right for Israeli forces to recapture Gaza. It is not good for Israel, This is not good for Israelis.” The reason for this warning to Israel from the White House is a statement by Benjamin Netanyahu in which he had claimed that after the end of the war, Israel will take the responsibility of the security of Gaza in its own hands.
The US and its Western allies have long been telling their Israeli counterparts that Israel must have clear objectives when it comes to humiliating Hamas and avoiding a long-term occupation of the Gaza Strip.
Extensive army operation in Gaza city
Within a month of the start of the war, the Israeli army is carrying out a massive military operation in the center of Gaza city. The army has said that its campaign to ‘crush’ Hamas terrorists has intensified. The Israeli PM gave a speech addressing the country on the completion of one month of the war. He said that if Hezbollah declares war, it will be its biggest mistake.
