New Delhi. Finally the moment has arrived for which cricket fans were eagerly waiting. Today is the last date for IPL 2025 retention. All 10 franchise teams are going to release the list of their retained players. Before the IPL mega auction, it will be known on Thursday evening who are the players who will enter the mega auction for the upcoming IPL season. There is also discussion about many big names that the franchises can release them, while the news of Virat Kohli taking over the command of RCB again is also in discussion. Kohli can become the captain of RCB team again. Delhi Capitals can also release Rishabh Pant. Let us know about this entire process.
The Right to Match (RTM) rule gives the franchise the opportunity to buy back a player who was part of that team in the previous season. When a player enters the auction after his release, a bid is placed on him. Once the bid is placed, the releasing team is then asked whether it wants to use RTM for this player. This means that the releasing team can buy that player again. The team that releases that player can re-admit him at the same price that is bid in the auction.
