IPL Point Table: Turmoil in the points table due to Lucknow’s defeat, Delhi jumped, Virat’s RCB lagged behind.

New Delhi. There has been a big change in the points table of IPL 2024 due to the victory of Delhi Capitals and the defeat of Lucknow Supergiants. With this victory, Delhi team has reached the top-5. It has left behind Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are moving ahead strongly in the race for the playoffs. This change will have a direct impact on the chances of IPL playoffs.

Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Supergiants by 19 runs on Tuesday in a do or die match. Batting first, Delhi scored 208 runs. In response, Lucknow team could score only 189 runs for 9 wickets. Delhi Capitals has kept its hopes of IPL playoffs intact with this victory.

His run rate is -0.787. Now, no matter how big a win LSG registers, it is not going to reach the top-4.

However, due to the victory of Delhi Capitals, there has been no change in the top-4 of the points table. Kolkata Knight Riders remains at number one with 19 points. Rajasthan Royals is at second place with 16 points. After this, Sunrisers Hyderabad (14) and Chennai Super Kings (14) are at third and fourth position. Hyderabad and Chennai teams are ahead of Delhi Capitals due to better run rate.

The match between Delhi and Lucknow has made no difference to the bottom three teams in the points table. Gujarat Titans is at seventh position with 11 points. Mumbai Indians (8) and Punjab Kings (8) are at ninth and 10th position respectively. All these three teams are completely out of the race for the playoffs. However, Punjab Kings have a chance to leave Mumbai Indians behind. Punjab Kings will take the field against Rajasthan Royals today on Wednesday.
