IPL 2025 Retention LIVE Updates: The deadline for all 10 franchises of the Indian Premier League to submit the list of retention of their players is till today (31 October) only. By this evening all 10 teams will release the retention list of their players. It will be interesting to see which players the franchise adds to its fold.

Franchises are allowed to retain a maximum of 6 players from their 2024 squad for the 2025 mega auction. Each franchise has been given a purse of Rs 120 crore to build its team for IPL 2025. Which is 20% more than last year. The deadline for submitting the retention list of players is 31 October. All the franchises like Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will release their lists today itself.

How many players can each franchise retain?
The IPL Governing Council has allowed each team to have a maximum of six players. The six retentions can have a maximum of 5 capped players (Indian and overseas) and a maximum of 2 uncapped players. There is news that Rishabh Pant may leave Delhi, while Shreyas Iyer may be released by KKR. Punjab can also release Dhawan.
