iPad Air 2024 Launched 50 Percent Faster M2 Chip Price in India Specifications Features Availability

iPad Air (2024) was launched by Apple in India and global markets on Tuesday in its ‘Let Losse’ event. The sixth generation iPad Air model will be available in 11-inch and 13-inch display variants. This is the first time that an iPad Air has been launched with two display sizes. While previous reports had hinted that the larger iPad Air would have a mini-LED screen, both variants introduced by Apple are equipped with liquid retina (LCD) screens. iPad Air (2024) works on Apple’s octa-core M2 chip.

iPad Air (2024) price, availability

The 11-inch model with Wi-Fi connectivity and 128GB storage is priced starting at Rs 59,9000 in India. You can also buy it in Wi-Fi + Cellular variant with 128GB storage, starting at Rs 74,900. At the same time, the starting price of Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular variants of 13-inch iPad Air model with 128GB storage is Rs 79,900 and Rs 94,900 respectively. 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options are also available for both variants. Both variants have been launched in space grey, blue, purple and starlight color options.

The starting price of the 11-inch model in the US is $599 (approximately Rs 50,000), while the 13-inch model has been launched at $799 (approximately Rs 69,700).

Specifications of iPad Air (2024)

Apple has launched the iPad Air (2024) with its M2 chip, which also houses Apple’s Neural Engine for on-device AI functions. The company claims that the new iPad Air is 50 percent faster than its previous version. The device runs on iPadOS 17 out-of-the-box.

The new iPad Air features the same 11-inch liquid retina (LCD) screen with 2360×1640 pixel resolution that came in Apple’s 5th generation iPad Air models. This year, the iPad Air will also be available in a 13-inch display option, which has a slightly higher resolution.

For selfies and video calls, you get a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle forward-facing camera on the iPad Air (2024). For supported apps like FaceTime, the device also supports Apple’s Center Stage technology that automatically adjusts the camera angle as you move. On the rear, it has a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with image stabilization and Smart HDR. It is capable of recording video at up to 4K resolution and 60fps or slow motion video at up to 1080p at up to 240fps.

Apple’s new iPad Air models support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity, while the cellular model also lets you connect to 5G networks. There’s a USB Type-C port for charging (at 20W) and data transfer, and the company has equipped the device with a Touch ID sensor on the power button for biometric authentication.
