Indore Cyber Fraud With Private Teacher: In Indore, a cyber fraudster duped a private teacher of Rs 1.60 lakh in the name of part-time job and investment profit. Additional DCP Alok Kumar Sharma said that private teacher Jaikumar Patidar has lodged a complaint of cyber fraud at Rajendra Nagar police station. He said that he received a message on WhatsApp, which had a link for a part-time job.
He clicked on the link and received a call from an unknown number. In the call, he was asked to perform an online task for which he was asked to earn Rs 4,000 per day and 40% profit. Later, he was asked for Rs 25,000. He repeatedly sent money, which totalled Rs 1.6 lakh. When the complainant asked the caller to return the money, he said that he would have to pay Rs 15,000 as his account had been frozen.
Cyber fraudster duped people by posing as teacher
Giving information in another case, Additional DCP Alok Kumar Sharma said that a contractor named Gopal Sitolia has lodged a complaint of cyber fraud at Tejaji Nagar police station. The complainant said that he received a call from an unknown number, which asked him to identify him. The complainant thought that he was a teacher from his village, because his voice was also similar.
15 thousand rupees deducted from the account
The caller told him that he was transferring Rs 25,000 to someone because the server of his account was down. The complainant received a message with a link to deposit Rs 15,000 in his account. He clicked on the link and Rs 15,000 was deducted from his account. Later, the caller switched off his mobile phone and the complainant realised that he had been duped.
