Indian Student Stabbed In US : Indian student Varun Raj, who was injured in a knife attack in Indiana, America, has died. This information has been given by Valparaiso University. It is noteworthy that last week a 24-year-old Indian was stabbed by an assailant in a fitness center, after which the seriously injured student was admitted to the hospital. The student has now died.
According to BBC report, Varun Raj, a computer science student at Valparaiso University, was attacked by a man named Jordan Andrade in a gym on October 29. The student suffered head injuries in the attack. Since then his condition remained critical.
The Indian student was on life support system for the past several days. However he could not be saved. Officials are still investigating the matter. At present the police has arrested one person in the case.
Tribute will be paid to Varun on 16th November
Valparaiso University near Chicago said in its statement on Wednesday (November 9), “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Varun Raj’s demise.” Our university lost one of its children. Our thoughts are with Varun’s family and friends at this sad time.”
Valparaiso University has planned to pay tribute to Varun on November 16. According to the report, Varun was doing MS in Computer Science. He came to America in August 2022. According to the report, his course was to be completed next year.
The attacker told the reason for the attack
According to the report, the attacker was arrested after the incident and a case of attack with a sharp weapon and attempt to murder has been registered against him. The accused of attack told in his statement to the police that he had to get a massage in the gym. When he went to the massage room, Varun was present there, whom he did not recognize. The attacker told that he found Varun a bit strange. In such a situation he attacked the Indian student.
