India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj once again clarified India’s stand on the Israel-Palestine dispute and said that only the two-nation theory can resolve the dispute between the two countries. Ruchira Kamboj said that India is committed to supporting the two-nation principle. Only then will the people of Palestine be able to live freely with secure borders. Besides, Israel’s security concerns will also be resolved.
India supported Palestine’s UN membership
India has supported Palestine’s demand for membership of the United Nations. Let us tell you that last month America had opposed this demand of Palestine. Ruchira Kamboj said, ‘We hope that Palestine’s membership in the United Nations will be reconsidered at the appropriate time and Palestine’s effort to become a member of the United Nations will be supported.’ It is noteworthy that in the year 1974, India was the first non-Arab country to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.

In 1988, India recognized Palestine as a separate country. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly meeting on Wednesday, Ruchira Kamboj said that ‘India’s leadership has repeatedly stressed that there should be direct and meaningful talks between Israel and Palestine and the principle of two nations in both the countries. Only through this can peace come. In this direction, India appealed to both the countries to resume direct peace talks.
India also criticized the October 7 attack on Israel
On the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, India said that this conflict has resulted in large-scale loss of lives of civilians, especially women and children, and has created a serious humanitarian crisis, which is absolutely unacceptable. Kamboj also strongly condemned the October 7 attack on Israel and said that the terrorist attack was shocking and should be strongly condemned. India’s stance has been uncompromising against terrorism in all its forms. India demands the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. Kamboj said that humanitarian aid should be delivered immediately to prevent the situation in Gaza from worsening.
