India China Border Dispute Latest News: America has welcomed the withdrawal of troops from the India-China border and the reduction in tension between the two countries. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said Washington was closely monitoring the situation, and had also discussed the matter with the Indian side. However, along with this, Miller also made it clear that America has not played any role in this solution.
“We are closely monitoring the developments and we understand that both countries have taken initial steps to withdraw troops from the friction points along the LAC,” Miller said at a press briefing on Tuesday (October 29). But welcome any reduction in tension.” He said, “We have talked to our Indian partners and have been briefed on this, but we have not played any role in this solution.”
All withdrawal processes almost complete
Meanwhile, defense sources told ANI that the disengagement process in Depsang and Demchok areas of Eastern Ladakh sector is almost complete. Sources said that the armies of India and China are confirming the removal of their respective infrastructure from each other. India is working towards resolving this long-standing dispute so that the situation in the region can be restored to the pre-April 2020 situation before the start of the Chinese aggression. On Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed that the border troops of the two countries were engaged in “relevant work” in line with the agreement on border issues.

During a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that the work was progressing smoothly. Asked whether India and China have begun the withdrawal of troops from the confrontation points, Lin Jian said, “In accordance with recent resolutions on border issues, Chinese and Indian border troops are engaged in relevant operations, which “Currently progressing smoothly.” On October 21, India announced an agreement with China to patrol the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, ending more than four years of military standoff.

Earlier, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Russia, where both leaders welcomed the agreement on patrolling arrangements along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. The meeting took place after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced new patrolling arrangements on the LAC in the India-China border areas. The border standoff between India and China started in eastern Ladakh on the LAC in 2020. It was triggered by Chinese military actions and led to prolonged tensions in bilateral relations.
