India at Switzerland Peace Summit said Russia and Ukraine efforts only involving will lead to Peace

Switzerland Peace Summit: India has made a big statement on the Russia-Ukraine war at the peace summit held in Switzerland. India said on Sunday (16 June) that only honest and dialogue between Russia and Ukraine can lead to lasting peace. A top Indian diplomat said this at the peace summit.

In fact, a peace summit was held in Switzerland, in which more than 90 countries participated. Foreign Ministry Secretary (West) Pawan Kapoor said that India will not associate itself with the joint statement or any document emerging from the peace summit, as it believes that only options acceptable to both Russia and Ukraine can lead to lasting peace.

‘Solution will come through dialogue and diplomacy’

Foreign Secretary (West) Pawan Kapoor addressed the gathering for less than two minutes. He said India shares the global concern over the situation in Ukraine and supports any collective desire to find a peaceful solution to the conflict. India’s participation in the peace summit is in line with our clear and consistent stance that lasting peace is possible only through dialogue and diplomacy. We believe that lasting peace can be achieved only through dialogue and diplomacy.

India did not join the joint statement

Kapoor said that India will continue to engage with all stakeholders and both sides of the conflict to contribute to all serious efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine, but it has decided not to support any joint statement coming out of the summit. He said that in our view, only those options can lead to lasting peace which are acceptable to both the sides.

The war started in February 2022

Let us tell you that in February 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine. There has been a war going on between the two countries for more than two years. However, India has refrained from publicly criticizing Russia. India has consistently emphasized on dialogue and diplomacy to find a solution to the Ukraine war.
