New Delhi. While the Indian men’s team is showing its prowess in the ICC T20 World Cup, the women’s team has entered the ODI series against South Africa. In the very first match of the 3-match series, Indian superstar opener Smriti Mandhana scored a brilliant century. This innings came at a time when the batting was badly faltering. Lady Tendulkar single-handedly took the breath away from the bowlers of the entire African team. Thanks to this innings, India scored a huge score of 265 runs for 8 wickets.
The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa women’s team started on Sunday, June 16. Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat first. India had a very bad start and half the team returned before 100 runs. Shefali Verma, Hemalata, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemima Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh lost their wickets cheaply.
