South Africa needed 11 runs to win in the last over. Captain Laura Wolvaardt and De Clercq were present at the crease. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur handed over the responsibility of bowling to Pooja Vastrakar in the pressure moment. Pooja’s brilliant bowling took two consecutive wickets and ruined South Africa’s plans of victory. She took 2 wickets for 6 runs in the last over and put India in the bag for victory. South Africa needed 11 runs to win in the last over. Pooja Vastrakar bowled the last over of the match for India. On the first ball of this over, Laura Wolvaardt took a run and gave the strike to De Klerk. Clerk hit a four on the second ball. After this, South Africa needed 6 runs from 4 balls. On the third ball, Pooja sent De Klerk to the pavilion while on the fourth ball she got Shangase caught by Harmanpreet Kaur. On the fifth ball, Mieke de Rider ran and took a run. On the sixth ball, Laura could not score a single run and India was successful in winning the exciting match.

Mandhana and Harampreet scored centuries
Earlier, India scored 325 runs for 3 wickets on the basis of centuries by Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Vice-captain Mandhana played an innings of 136 runs in 120 balls. She hit 18 fours and 2 sixes. Harmanpreet Kaur played an unbeaten innings of 103 runs in 88 balls. Richa Ghosh scored an unbeaten 25 runs in 13 balls. Shefali Verma was out after scoring 20 runs. Mandhana scored the seventh century of her ODI career, while this was the sixth century of Harmanpreet Kaur’s ODI career.
