IND vs ZIM Head To Head: How is Team India’s record against Zimbabwe in T20, who is stronger than whom, know head to head

New Delhi. The Indian cricket team led by Shubman Gill has reached Zimbabwe to play a 5-match T20 series. Both teams will clash in the first T20 match on Saturday (July 6) at Harare Sports Club. Statistics-wise, the Indian team has so far dominated the hosts. However, most of the players in Team India are young and are eager to achieve something. On this tour, Abhishek Sharma and Tushar Deshpande, including Riyan Parag, can be seen making their international debut. Both teams have clashed 8 times in T20 International cricket, where India has won 6 matches, while Zimbabwe has won 2. Both teams last clashed in Harare in 2016. Zimbabwe will be captained by 38-year-old all-rounder Sikandar Raza.

The last T20 series between India and Zimbabwe (IND vs ZIM) was played in 2016. Then the Indian team played in Zimbabwe under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. India lost the first match of that series. But after that Team India made a comeback and won the last two matches to win the series 2-1. In the team selected for the Zimbabwe tour, there are only 3 players who were recently included in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad. However, these three players will not be able to play in the first 2 matches of the series. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dubey have not yet returned home. Due to the storm named Beryl in Barbados, the Indian team is returning home 4 days after the World Cup ended.

Jitesh, Sudarshan and Harshit Rana won the lottery
BCCI has sent Sai Sudarshan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana with the team to Zimbabwe for the first two T20s in place of Sanju Samson, Yashasvi and Shivam Dubey. Jitesh, Sudarshan and Harshit can be seen playing in the first two T20s. VVS Laxman has gone with the Indian team as interim coach. Rahul Dravid, who was the head coach of Team India, had a tenure with Team India till the T20 World Cup. India will get a new head coach in mid-July.

Team India is unbeaten in a series win in Zimbabwe since 2015
India has an excellent record in Zimbabwe. Team India has not lost any T20 bilateral series there so far. The two-match series played between the two teams in 2015 was drawn 1-1. Whereas in 2010, the Indian team whitewashed the hosts in a two-match series in Zimbabwe. All five T20 matches of the current series will be played in Harare from 4:30 pm Indian time.
