New DelhiThe sound with which Rinku Singh entered the Indian team is now gradually diminishing. Due to the continuous step-motherly behavior of the team management, not only Rinku’s average is deteriorating but her confidence is also beginning to shake. Rinku was tagged as a finisher and she started getting less chances to bat. When wickets were falling continuously against South Africa, Akshar Patel was sent, which no one understood.

The question is why the team management is not able to use a batsman who knows how to score runs in any situation and pitch properly. The way Rinku Singh has impressed everyone in the last one year in Indian cricket, his place in the team has been confirmed but Rinku has not yet got the opportunity to bat at the right number regularly.

Is Rinku becoming a victim of factionalism?

Anyway, in T20 format, a team gets to play a total of 120 balls and if the team management makes up its mind then the number of balls in the account of the batsman after number four will keep decreasing. Something similar is happening with Rinku Singh. Explosive left-handed batsman Rinku Singh is paying a heavy price for the finisher tag on him. Due to continuous batting in the lower order, Rinku has been able to play only 283 balls in the last 27 T20 matches. In these matches, Rinku scored 490 runs and hit 40 fours and 30 sixes. That means on an average Rinku gets to play 10 balls in a match and within this limit she has to demonstrate all her art. Such is Rinku’s talent that she is still maintaining her average above 50. Rinku’s strike rate is 173. Whereas batsmen like Tilak Verma – Shivam Dubey are made to bat repeatedly in the top four, due to which more balls come to their account.

Rinku’s best record at number four

Rinku Singh has an excellent record at number four in domestic cricket and the management should play Rinku at the top in the remaining matches. Rinku Singh has scored runs in 50 first class matches at an average of 54, which has 7 centuries and 22 half-centuries, which indicates that Rinku is a batsman playing in the top 4-5 and as used by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Indian team management is not able to make proper use of Rinku.
