IND vs ENG: India’s playing eleven decided, whoever comes in place of Virat Kohli, will sit on the bench!

New Delhi. After Virat Kohli withdrew his name from the first two Test matches against England, talks have started on his replacement. Some are saying that in place of Virat, give a chance to young players like Rinku Singh, Rajat Patidar, while some are arguing for the return of Cheteshwar Pujara. Everyone has their own Ram… but be assured that whichever player comes to the team in place of Virat Kohli, he will not get a place in the playing eleven. Why would this happen and what is the reason for it, let us understand further.

The Indian cricket team will play its first test match against England from January 25 in Hyderabad. Virat Kohli will not play in this match. So will Virat be replaced by a player who is not in the current team? This does not seem likely at all. The reason is that the Indian team will enter the Hyderabad Test with a combination of 5 batsmen, 1 wicketkeeper and 5 bowlers (all-rounders). When Virat Kohli was in the team, there was no place for Shreyas Iyer in this combination.

Team India will field with 3 spinners
Actually, the Indian team can field with three spinners Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel in the first Test match against England. The reason for this is clear that the pitch of Hyderabad is considered slow. There can be turn on the pitch from the second day itself. When there are three spinners in the team, the Indian team would like to go with a specialist wicketkeeper and not with KL Rahul. Team India currently has two specialist wicketkeepers in the form of KS Bharat and Dhruv Jurel. The Indian team will choose only one of these because it would not want any mistake to happen behind the wicket.

KS Bharat’s claim strong
Instead of Dhruv Jurel, Kona Shrikar Bharat i.e. KS Bharat has a stronger claim for the playing eleven. The reason for this is both form and experience. Talking about form, Shrikar has scored 1 century and 2 half-centuries in the last 5 innings. Srikar Bharat recently averted India A’s defeat by scoring a century in the fourth innings against England Lions. A century in the fourth innings is considered important against any pitch or team. KS Bharat has also played five test matches. Talking about 23 year old Dhruv Jurel, he has scored half-centuries in 4 of the last 5 innings. But when Virat Kohli is not in the team, the team might prefer to go with an experienced wicketkeeper.

If Virat Kohli had played the first Test match, then the order of top-5 batsmen in the Indian playing eleven would have been – Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Then one wicketkeeper and three spin all-rounders. Bumrah and Siraj come at 10-11th position. Now since Virat will not play, the team management will give a chance to Shreyas Iyer in his place instead of those who will be selected in the team now. This means that whichever player will be selected in the team in place of Virat, even if he plays the second test, there is no possibility of it in the first test.

Indian team (probable playing eleven): Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, KS Bharat, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.
