New Delhi. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant half-century innings in the first Test match being played between India and Bangladesh. He kept the team in control after the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli fell and kept taking the score forward. He hit a fifty at a strike rate of 52. India had lost 3 wickets in 10 overs.
Jaiswal came out to open the innings in this match. Initially, he was batting very slowly due to the fall of wickets. But gradually he caught the rhythm and completed his fifty in 95 balls. He hit 8 fours in his fifty-run innings. Pant also supported him well but he was out after scoring 39 runs in 52 balls.
Top order flopped
Barring Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s top order flopped. Captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 9 runs in 16 balls. Shubman Gill, who came to bat at number three, could not even open his account. He was dismissed on zero. Virat Kohli, who came at number four, was dismissed after scoring 6 runs.
India’s score crosses 130
There was a time when it seemed that the Indian team would fall apart like a pack of cards. But that did not happen. On the basis of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s brilliant innings, Team India has crossed the score of 130. KL Rahul is batting well along with Yashasvi. It remains to be seen whether he is able to take his innings forward or not.
