New Delhi. Bangladesh has announced its team for the Test series against India. Bangladesh has included uncapped Zakir Ali in its team. Zakir Ali is a wicketkeeper batsman. The 2-match Test series between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to begin on 19 September. India has already announced its team for the series.
26-year-old Zakir Ali has played 17 T20 matches for Bangladesh. But he is yet to make his debut in ODI and Test formats. Zakir Ali has scored runs at an average of 41 in 49 first-class matches. Bangladesh selectors have included Zakir Ali in the team in place of fast bowler Shariful Islam. Shariful Islam was part of the team on the Pakistan tour. He has had to be dropped from the team due to injury. In the absence of Shariful, Bangladesh’s pace attack will be handled by Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Hasan Mahmud and Khalid Ahmed.
Bangladesh team recently defeated Pakistan 2-0 in their home. Since then, the interest in India and Bangladesh series has increased. Bangladesh has made only one change in its team for the India tour. Najumal Hussain Shanto has been retained as the captain of the team.
