New DelhiThe players have started gearing up. The captain and coach have taken charge and are sweating profusely on the field to ensure that all three departments, i.e. batting, bowling and fielding, remain in good condition. Since the Test match is in Perth, the focus is more on the pace bowlers. Recently, the way Pakistan bowlers have hit Australia at home, Indian fast bowlers have also found a way out.
Fast bowlers played a big role in Pakistan’s victory in the ODI series against Australia. Harris Rauf, Hasnain, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi took a total of 26 wickets in three matches. The interesting thing was that Pakistan’s fast bowlers used three-quarter length extensively, for which Australia had no answer.
bodyline bowling preparation
Pakistan has shown a way to the Indian team, then Team India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel made the fast bowlers practice single wicket by placing a square on a similar length. Three quarter length is very effective in Perth. Just a few days ago, Pakistan had bowled out Australia for 140 on the same ground and all 10 wickets went to the fast bowlers. Targeting the body, the three-quarter length gave the batsmen neither a chance to go forward nor backward. The result was that the Australian batsmen became cramped and started losing wickets due to discomfort. The preparation of Indian fast bowlers is also going on in a similar manner.
Understand the demand for Kookaburra balls
Pakistan’s fast bowlers got success with the white ball and Test cricket will be played with the red ball. Irrespective of the color of the ball, it is very important to understand the length on Australian pitches because Kookaburra ball is used here whose seam is slightly pressed and stops swinging after 15-20 overs, then the ball is brought on the pitch. Bowlers are able to achieve movement by hitting. That means there should be good practice of continuously hitting three-quarter length. Bounce or movement from this length is a problem for both the batsmen, that is why the Indian fast bowlers are working on it with full dedication. The good thing with the Indian team is that whether it is Bumrah or Siraj, everyone has the experience of bowling in Australia.
