New Delhi. Team India will play a home T20 series against Australia (IND vs AUS) after the World Cup 2023. Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah can be given rest in this series. Earlier, Hardik Pandya was at the forefront of taking charge of the T20 team in this series but he is out of the World Cup. There is very little hope that he will be fit till the series. The captaincy of the Indian team can be given to Rituraj Gaikwad or Suryakumar K Yadav. Apart from this, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Tilak Verma and Yashasvi Jaiswal can also be given a chance in the squad.
According to the news of ESPN Cricinfo, many senior players of India can be given rest in this T20 series. It has been told in the news that the kind of squad was sent to the Asian Games held in Hangzhou city of China. A similar team will also be seen in the T20 series against Australia. Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Tilak Verma and Yashasvi Jaiswal can be given a chance in this T20 series.
Surya or Gaikwad can captain
A BCCI source also told PTI, “Hardik Pandya is not completely fit yet. It is difficult for them to play against Australia. There are high chances that Hardik will feature in the South Africa series. Suryakumar Yadav or Rituraj Gaikwad are the frontrunners to replace Hardik.”
