Apart from Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav (31), Shivam Dubey (28), Hardik Pandya (27) and Rishabh Pant (15) played brilliantly. Mitchell Starc and Marcus Stoinis took 2-2 wickets for Australia. Josh Hazlewood took one wicket.

Chasing a target of 206 runs, Australia had scored 128 runs for the loss of two wickets at one stage. At that time it seemed that Australia could win the match. But the Indian bowlers kept the pressure on Australia by taking wickets at regular intervals. The result was that the Australian team could only score 181 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Travis Head scored the highest 76 runs for Australia. Mitchell Marsh scored 37 and Glenn Maxwell scored 20 runs. Arshdeep Singh took the highest 3 wickets for India. Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets.
