New Delhi. Travis Head, the Australian batsman who has snatched two ICC trophies from Team India captained by Rohit Sharma. After snatching the trophy from Team India in the World Cup final, Travis Head has healed his wound by saying two words about the Indian captain. Even after 12 years, the ICC trophy drought continues for the Indian team. After 20 years, once again the Australian team has ruined the hopes of Team India and Captain Rohit Sharma by entering India in the World Cup final.
Travis Head said after scoring the match-winning century, ‘Never expected this. Much better than sitting on the couch at home. Really happy to contribute, the first 20 balls I played gave me a lot of confidence. And yes, I was able to keep it going. The way Mitch Marsh came in and took the game forward, he created the atmosphere. We needed this energy and we knew that the wicket could be difficult. It was a very good decision to bowl first after winning the toss. I felt that the wicket got better as the day progressed.
Rohit is probably the most unlucky person – Travis Head
After winning the title battle, Travis Head further said, ‘He (Rohit Sharma) is probably the most unlucky person in the world. Fielding is something I have worked hard on. I couldn’t even imagine scoring a century. It was very good to catch Rohit Sharma. It’s important to look after your teammates, it’s a great thing to be able to do that on the big stage in front of a packed house.
Team India put up a good fight with the bowling in the World Cup final. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami dismissed the first 3 batsmen. But thanks to Travis Head’s century and Marnus Labuschagne’s half-century, the Kangaroo team won the match by 6 wickets. With this, Australia won the sixth World Cup trophy.
