IIT-NIT JoSAA Counselling 2024: The counselling process for admission in IIT-NIT and other top engineering colleges has started by JoSAA. The last date for choice filling for this counselling being conducted for 59 thousand 917 seats in 121 colleges is 18 June till 5 pm. Students can fill choices for 865 branches of 121 colleges.
Second mock seat allocation released, 1 lakh 81 thousand 370 students participated Career counseling expert Amit Ahuja said that if a student is unable to lock his/her filled college choice within the given time, then his/her last saved choice gets auto-locked automatically. The second mock seat allocation of joint seat counseling has been released. In the mock seat allocation released, 2 crore 20 lakh 44 thousand 300 choices of a total of 1 lakh 81 thousand 370 students have been included and allotted.
What should students do now?
After the second mock seat allocation, students must check their filled college choices for the last time to ensure that there is no choice above the college branch allotted to them in the second mock seat allocation which is lower in priority than the allotted branch and there is no choice of any college branch below the allotted branch which should have been filled higher in priority than the allotted branch. Because once locked, no change is possible in the filled branch. This JoSAA counseling will be completed in six rounds.
First allotment on June 20
Expert Amit Ahuja told that this year also the first round of seat allocation for admission in IIT-NIT will be declared on 20th June at 10 am. After the first round of seat allocation, students will have to report online between 20th and 24th June.
In online reporting, students will have to deposit the seat acceptance fee and upload all the required documents. Their allotted seat will be confirmed after JoSAA verifies their documents. Among the category documents to be uploaded, OBC and EWS certificates must be issued after 1 April 2024.
